FANTASIA’S BACK TO ME DEBUTS AT #1 ON BILLBOARD’S R&B ALBUMS CHART
“BITTERSWEET” #1 FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE WEEK ON URBAN ADULT RADIO AIRPLAY CHART
FANTASIA TO DEBUT NEW SINGLE “I’M DOIN’ ME” ON LIVE! WITH REGIS & KELLY, WENDY WILLIAMS, 106 & PARK AND MO’NIQUE
[New York, NY – September 1, 2010] Fantasia’s third studio album, Back To Me, debuts this week at #1 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart and #2 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart, according to Nielsen SoundScan. With over 117,000 units sold since its August 24th release on J Records, Back To Me marks Fantasia’s first #1 R&B album (Free Yourself debuted at #2, Fantasia at #3) and her highest Billboard Top 200 chart ranking (Free Yourself debuted at #8, Fantasia at #19).
Leading the way for the album’s chart-topping debut is the hit single “Bittersweet” which currently claims the #1 position on the Urban Adult Radio Airplay chart for three consecutive weeks. The Lenny Bass-directed video for the single is currently #4 on BET’s 106 & Park and in rotation on VH1 and in Power Rotation on VH1 Soul.
Critics are championing Back To Me with rave reviews. People magazine proclaims that “Fantasia stirs the heart and soul on her latest,” and bestows a 3 ½-star rating (out of 4) on her “third – and best – album.” With a 4-star rating (out of 5), The New York Daily News states that Back To Me “far out-performs the singer’s first two works, with meatier hooks, firmer melodies and a more shrewdly focused point of view,” while Perez Hilton cites the album as “exceptional… we love the record – from start to finish!”
Undeniably one of the most engaging and electrifying live performers of this generation, the eight-time Grammy nominee recently mesmerized audiences with performances on Good Morning America, Lopez Tonight and Steve Harvey’s Ford Hoodie Awards. Fantasia has also created an internet buzz with performances for Walmart Soundcheck, AOL Music Sessions and Live at VH1. In 2004, the High Point, North Carolina native became the season three winner of Fox’s American Idol. Later that year, Fantasia released her platinum-selling debut album Free Yourself on J Records and became the first artist in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart to debut at #1 with her first single, “I Believe.” Fantasia’s second single, “Truth Is,” spent 14 weeks at #1, thus making her the first singer to simultaneously have two of the top three songs on the Billboard chart. Fantasia’s 2006 eponymous second album featured the #1 R&B single, “When I See U,” and reached gold status.
In addition to being an eight-time Grammy-nominated singer, in 2005 Fantasia authored her first memoir, Life is Not a Fairytale and made her acting debut starring as herself in the Lifetime television movie based on the book. In 2007, Fantasia continued her acting career and received rave reviews for her portrayal of “Celie” in the Broadway play The Color Purple.

This album is tight! As my grandmama used to say "You put your foot in this!" This album is from the heart, you can feel it in the words and the music! This is your best album yet......I say yet because I know the next one will top this one. My favorite track is number 9 "The thrill is gone." The lyrics are tight and the beat has that old school beat that keeps ya head nodding! I keep that song on repeat! You doing your thang Tasia!
OMG...I Love the album actually I loved your singing since you were on American Idol...but you really made a good come back with this album...I'm glad you are doing good and you gave us as your fans your talents once again. I will keep you in my prayers and hope you will keep your music coming cause you are so good at it, Ms Fantasia.
Man Fantasia out did herself with this CD..I've got the Back to Me bug...when I first got the CD I downloaded it to my blackberry. If I don't listen to it ever day I feel sick...gotta luv her its the bomb, Can't wait till Nov 19th Columbia SC here I come!!!!

I love the album. Now I'll admit that I did download it for free online. I mean with an open web and torrents it's hard to resist the concept of "free" music. However, once hearing the album, I was so blown away that I had to buy it just to support what you were doing. Last time I heard an album worth buying was Usher's 8701. I'm proud of you and I'm inspired. It's good to know there's still real, good music out there....somewhere. Keep up the good work! TO ALL READERS: Ya'll go out and buy it. Even if you already downloaded it, you need to support your artists just like they support us.
fantasia has what it takes to be the next MJB...they have the same qualifies( would love to hear them do a song together or maybe even a entire album) fantasia can sing with the right productions and song writers she will knock this music world down....I love to create some tracks for her and see how those turn out
Hey Fantasia!!! Girl I have been loving your music and your style since the days where Istayed up all night voting for you on Amercian Idol. I attended your perfomance yesterday in the ATL at the "For Sister's Only". Girl you really moved me, and I was the one you were talking to. And like the song you sang, I want to tell you "THANK YOU". I could care less what the media says about you, you are an Idol, if not to no one else, at least to me!!! My grandmother always told me, sometimes you have to go thru some things before God can truely bless you. It's his way of getting you ready for what he really has in store for you. Do your thing Fantasia!! Remember you cannot please everybody, they or going to hate you or love you and guess what? YOU are OK with either choice they make. I love to sing and I love true soul grit singers and you are on the top of my list from the day my husband and I watched you from the begining on American Idol. I knew you were going to win because you showed the world you deserved to be there and I demanded everyone in my house to vote lol. True story...I do not watch American Idol anymore, I felt no one could top that day you won and the expression on your face, wow, you showed it all and I cried and cried with you. When I saw you walk onto George Lopez show I cried and said there go my girl!!! I am proud of you and I know I am not the only one, don't change who you are, you were born that way for a reason. I know I talk a lot but girl I can't call you on the phone (lol). True story, I have two sons 13 and 14, they knew every song by Friday their favorite is the collard green song, he kept asking ma what does she mean and I had to explain bout some good southern cooking (lol). See Fantasia I can tell good funny stories about you, so that means you are doing something right. Remember the media wants to tell the bad stuff because they think it sells, but joke on them you already had a platinum album before all this mess and remember "people" voted for YOU. For every tear you cry, God dries it before it leaves your face. Everybody makes mistakes, you do not answer to "man" but to a higher power and he forgives and forgets. You deserve all the happiness within your reach, go for it and look in the mirror everyday and say stuff like" I am a bad chick, after I leave the stage the mic is on fire, my performance can never be imitated, if you don't like it leave my CD on the shelf"lol!! Fantasia, I have said from day one that the WORLD of music does not know what to do with you! You are an ABSOLUTELY gifted artist and what you carry inside of you by way of the Holy Spirit is powerful....While I know you sing in the secular world songs, there is no doubt in my mind that you love the Lord and that He lives in you. I hear the anointing all over you! Whatever you do don't compromise that anointing. Both your grandmother/mother are prayer warriors. Continue to let them cover you! The Lord forgave you when you asked Him to so don't allow yourself to remain in a state of guilt. Be FREE in Jesus' name!
